Part Two: Red Wine, Anti-Aging, Resveratrol and Science
In all honesty, fatigue has been the most nagging problem. I agreed to make changes to solve the problems, but that did not begin to make any kind of change in the way I approach life. I still see myself as I did when I was younger. Ok, so how do I make the necessary changes? The research I did on resveratrol is giving me a lot of insight. A number of doors are opening giving me new experiences. I realized I had already accepted the fact I am not as fast as I was in my twenties, but then I realized I have learned a few things as I have experienced life. Thus, I became aware of the fact resveratrol can give me the ability to stop my bad aging by improving energy levels. The first objective is to learn how I can overcome the changes in my body and brain.
I am not going to use any synthetic drugs. No dangerous side effects will threaten me. Resveratrol is a natural compound found in a number of plants such as red grapes, Japanese Knotweed and in a number of other plants.
All of these polyphenols contain beneficial organic molecules. Red grapes are the most popular and obvious source for resveratrol. Research studies conducted by the laboratories around the world have shown resveratrol really does retard the aging process and in doing so extends life. Red grapes contain polyphenol molecules which can be organically extracted from the grape skin, seeds, stem and vine. Because polyphenols are natural antioxidants which protect cells from free radical damage, which is the major cause of most of the cellular deterioration seen with aging.
Researchers found resveratrol after investigating the influence of the French diet. Science has been comparing the quantity of red wine consumed in France with the reduced incidence of cardiovascular disease in comparison to heart disease found in countries that do not drink as much red wine. Red wine has a long history stressing its health properties. The completed research studies on resveratrol strongly tie the polyphenol benefits to those received by the heart from red wine. These findings have given me a very strong feeling of safety and confidence when considering the use of resveratrol.
Scientific studies are reassuring, but, how does resveratrol accomplish these benefits? First of all it activates the longevity gene, which is called the survival gene. These genes have been found to increase energy and endurance along with many other actions that preserve good health. As a powerful antioxidant, resveratrol helps to protect cells from the aging process. It has also been found resveratrol improves cellular metabolism, there by protecting cells from aging. Cellular rejuvenation works hard as a key player in maintaining youth.
A large number of studies have found the following benefits of resveratrol:
- Strengthens the immune system
- Provides strong antioxidant protection
- Increases energy and endurance
- Plays a role in cancer protection
- Enriches central nervous system functioning
- Diminishes risk of neurodegenerative diseases
- Guards against over- active immune and inflammatory response
This research has given me a starting point in making my lifestyle changes that open some very wide avenues of opportunity.
