Quercetin Promising for Chronic Prostatitis

Attack Infection & Increase Performance with Quercetin

A new study funded by the U. S. Department of Defense found Quercetin, an antioxidant pigment found in apples, onions, and tea, to reduce viral infections and preserve physical and mental abilities in a test group of physically-stressed athletes. Scientists with Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina recruited 40 disciplined cyclists and randomly divided the cyclists into two groups of 20 riders in each group. The first group of 20 riders, referred to as the quercetin riders, was directed to take 1,000 mg. of quercetin, plus niacin and vitamin C per day for five weeks. QUERCETIN: reduces susceptibility to influenza

I have explored the capabilities of quercetin as an anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic substance. As I continued to research quercetin, I found it also functions to control infection and obesity. Because I am a senior, it was exciting to learn quercetin acted to control infection and obesity. This has given me another tool to use in controlling my weight.

 For centuries, garlic has been used to treat and prevent infectious diseases and viral complication. Garlic is made up of almost 200 different compounds. Quercetin is one of those compounds in garlic. Science has verified quercetin’s benefits in preventing viral diseases. Laboratory research has acted to reduce reproduction and infection of many viruses, including respiratory syncytial virus (a common causative agent of children’s upper respiratory infection).
