Using Fraud to sell Resveratrol

I received an email telling me about a news bulletin on the CBS Evening News. It seems there are those that want to sell resveratrol to the public and are not presenting the true facts.  It seems they are using Dr. David Sinclair’s name as an authority to market resveratrol. Barbara Walters has also had her name used without her approval. It is extremely important that everyone understands what these crooks are doing in their fraud. First of all, we need to understand resveratrol is a new discovery and there is much to be learned about this natural compound.

Dr. David Sinclair is a scientist connected to Harvard University. He has spent a number of years doing research on yeast, sirtuins, and resveratrol. Dr. Sinclair has earned the credit for discovering the life-extending powers of resveratrol and its origin, red wine.  He appeared on Barbara Walters ABC News TV special called Live to be 150: Can You Do It? Dr. Sinclair was also a guest on 60 Minutes. Then in 2008, GlaxoSmithKline purchased Sirtris Pharmaceuticals for $720 million.  Dr. Sinclair, co-founder of Sirtris Pharmaceutical, is without a doubt the number one authority on resveratrol.

Resveratrol is sometimes referred to as a bioflavonoid and polyphenol, and it can be found in a number of plants. Red grapes, berries and peanuts are three of the most popular sources for resveratrol. Science has found that the highest concentration of resveratrol has been reported in wines made from Pinot Noir grapes. White wine does not contain more than 1% to 5% resveratrol.
